Enjoy being gross
Friday, June 11, 2010
I want to try a bagel with lox:
Well.. I've been trying to clean up the house as best I can. It's really gross! And Nachito has just been destroying my sweater. hahaha.. Ah well. He's alright sometimes..
At any rate.. I found out it will cost approximately $250 to get new glasses.. the ones I want anyhow. This weekend I think will be spent doing that.
I have been seeing a lot of crazy animals around the house lately. Eduardo has been hanging out a lot. Also...this random Turkey who was on my car the other day..and then sitting under the cherry tree to avoid being rained on. I felt bad for the guy.. He runs away at the site of me though.
I've watched a lot of Futurama in the last few days. It sort of keeps me at bay. It's familiar. Chulita has been there too. She's really great. She never leaves my side. She's been my personal space heater every night too. It's been surprisingly cold.
So cold in fact, that I wore my new scarf yesterday! I truly dress like an old man. As exemplified:
Ehh..not much to really post about. I've thought a lot, come to terms, etc etc.
My sister graduates soon. I was just approved for the day off. I have to decided on a present.

You know me. I know you.
It's Sunday morning. No sleep, yet again. At least not a lot of sleep.
Yesterday was a very long day. But we accomplished plenty. In fact we are almost done. Now it's time to start refilling my place. Sweeeeee
At any rate, Calvin & Hobbes brings me much joy.
It hasn't been the best couple months.
Alicia graduates soon. I'm very proud. Have to get her a cool gift she will enjoy.
I need new glasses. Big time. I want to do some quick glasses shopping today after OT hours are done. Hopefully I will have time. I dunno.
Candy got me thinking about changing some color in my hair yesterday. This is a thought which has not crossed my mind in YEARS. We'll see.
I've been getting bugged a lot recently by a few people who I wish would understand that I prefer not to be bugged by them anymore!
On the other hand, I want tattoos really bad. All over. I need my throat, stomach, back, legs. I don't look cool enough. These guys know what's up.
Also..I must lose weight. Must bike more. Must make up for all the pizza parties, egg roll parties, meatball parties, tacoon parties, NACHOS FELICIDADES.
I am a lion.

Tell me how to tell myself:
Wooh! What's up?
Gaaaaahd. I don't even know what to type about. I don't want to riddle this blog with sadness. Sadness makes it worse!
I've been blogging more on IAM. Sorry. I don't mean to leave you all in the dark.
Let's see. Number 1 major thing is Candy has moved out. She found a great little spot in Lowell. It's actually not little. It's real cute in fact. We've been moving her stuff over there.
Blunstable house has been getting progressively more devoid of all the wonderful stuff. Just as well, I suppose.
I desire tattoos. I found a great picture on Clayton Addison's IAM feed of him and his g/f. Just a self portrait he took, burned the tattoos in the picture though and it was just really inspiring. You should see it. Makes me feel nekid.
For anyone who was not aware..I separated my AC joint in a bicycle accident last month. Finally the arm is free. Still hurts a great deal! Shit yea! But I do have a cool bike. Single speed for now. Gotta get used to pedaling one gear before fixed madness!
I hung out with Alexis Bledel the other day. That was pretty cool.
OH SHIT! I got my face tattooed. See?!
K, bai!

We match.
Umm.. I dunno. This may be my last post for a while. I have all these questions for myself. I guess.
I think I must have lived my life too fast when I was younger. It came crashing back. My skin has been really hot all day. I've been trying to keep cool. Kinda just been running my hands under water and touching my face and the back of my neck.
I don't know if it's working. It's not as soothing as I'd like.
What am I supposed to do? Where do I go from here? It's time to put my shoes back on and walk. I don't get to see your feet kicking along with me anymore.
Up, up and away.. I suppose.
Goodbye.. :/

Meh
It's been a pretty trying week. My patience is really admirable, even to myself.
Yesterday Candy, myself, Alicia, Matty and Bridget went to see They Might Be Giants free show in Boston. Then we went to Friendly's and I threw up.
All in all it was very fun though.
Cars. Crunch time.

Battle: Round 666. Shane Lach v. Kevin Starling
The undisputed
kekeke
The Underdog
This was Kevin's first time really with the opportunity to get busy. I call it opporTUNAty. Go ahead, ask me why.
So..we went to the "auto-x" event at NCC in Nashua. Total bust. Failure burrito. They must have just had something against s-chassis. At least..there is no other reasonable explanation which I can ascertain.
This is the breakdown:
-Kevin Starling shows up in s13 early for start time. Posted start was 9am. The guy he spoke with turned him away, noting that they were just setting up, and the event would not actually commence until 10am.
-Kevin Starling calls me to alert. Due-ly noted.
-After a light morning snack / coffee run to Dunks, we adjourn and go to the school.
-After waiting several minutes to gain access to parking lot, the teacher/coordinator meets us before we walk over to the course. He states that he doesn't mind if we spectate, however, we will not be able to run the course for the following reasons:
1) We did not make the tech inspection, which began promptly circa 9am.
2) This event, though advertised as a public event, was in fact exclusively set up for students
3) No one there knew who we were
-He asked us to sign a waiver to spectate. We obliged.
-After about an hour we called bogus and quickly shuffled off to our cars so we could bounce.
-Upon leaving the lot, we had to cross the course. We approached very slowly. One of the drivers/event hosts approached the car. We rolled down the window to ask what the best exit strategy would be. Event driver yells "DO NOT DRIVE ON THE GRASS, GO AROUND THE CONES". Kevin Phan says okay. Event driver again yells (note in a more threatening tone at this point) "DO NOT LEAVE THIS PLACE SIDEWAYS. WE WILL CALL THE COPS. WE HAVE YOUR PLATES". Kevin, taken aback jokes "what? okay..this is FWD". The dude was NOT amused. He again threatened and demanded unreasonably that we go 5mph as we exit. In the mean time, we drive past another driver who is shouting our license plate numbers across the parking lot to the event admin.
Talk about outrageous. We did nothing to instigate the hostility towards us. From minute zero, you could tell that they did not want us there. No one looked our way and everyone was standoffish.
Epic bull plop.
So we hosted our own event...called one corner, one car at a time. Even a cop joined us. He was on our side.

Rocky Dennis was real!
So...as per usual...no big update. I wish there were but I just haven't had the time. Really. I did interview for a management position at work :fingers crossed:
Anyways.. The hatch is no closer than it was the last few posts. Been lazy. Although, my buddy did catch an account with a parts dealer..so hopefully I will be getting the needed rings and bearings! Fuck!
At any rate..came home the other day and saw this:
For those of you who can't tell.. it's a MOTHER FUCKING MONSTER TRUCK TOWING ANOTHER MOTHER FUCKING MONSTER TRUCK! Shoot!
Kevin Phan is the Champeen on breaking tie rods. Which brings me to my next point..suspension arms for the hatch. Also, another set of Whiteline sways for the vert. And other misc goodies.
Anyways.. I think I am going to try and pony up dough and get some Battle Version / PBM suspension parts. Why not? Testicles!
Oh hey, I test fit the new carpet, seats, and new dash for the vert. Shit will ball like Jordan. Swear to mother fucking monster truck god.
I finally sold my eibachs. I did this because I picked up some Tein Super Street coilovers for the vert. Maximum comfort, maximum man pants dropping. Ghey. Actually..fuck..it's a turn of phrase. Not gay! It's true. Dudes love 240s. No homo, bro. Protein!
Kevin Starling and I were supposed to pick up the Suzuki today. Guess what? It's no longer happening. Unfortunate circumstances that were out of Jason's hands. Ah well. Things don't like to go right anyways.
Dog life is sometimes pretty sweet. Though sometimes one dog decides to pee on you. Then it's more bittersweet.
Peace!

Sunday, Sunday.
So guys.. been a bit I guess. This week was alright. Got a good deal of things accomplished. My sister's 18th birthday for one.. and it was a success. food was delicious of course! Hung out with Kevin Phan and John after work on Tuesday. Kevin broke a Tie Rod while eating Doritos I guess. Weird. At any rate, Jordan, Rusty Weed, and some other dude came and met up. We were able to source a tie rod from Petey the next day and magic happened. Sick.
This weekend was slow but good. Got an oil/ filter change done on the Lancer. Upgraded to K&N filtration via airbox. Thank god I did that too. The lancer feels better with the new filter, full synthetic, and bigger wheels. Candy and I are thinking of upgrading to Fujita and possibly a works tune.
Also, Kevin P came and helped swap up the coilovers for the vert. Oh! Did I note that I picked up some Tein Super Streets for the vert? Immaculate, unused condition. A SEXCELLENT SCORE if I do say so myself. Toan and Shane Lach came by for help and moral support as well. Oh, Squid too. That guy.. lol
So I went to go take some pictures of the vert today with said coilovers installed and look what I see hanging in our driveway lot:
BLAM!
Tada!
Squibbly Flabdelly Doo!
Of course I talked to the guys. Both were chill, and were a little pumped to see all the 240s here yesterday. They didn't have time to come by and check out what we were doing but were happy to see some car stuff going on. One of the dudes works at a body shop ($core!) and told me to holler at him when I need work done.
And here is a shot of the vert. Front needs moar low, IMO. But we will see what it looks like when it gets the piggy lip. Gotta get the skirts too! Also gotta paint the other wheels!!! Sheeeesh!
Well...more to come!

I once knew a dog, or should I say..she once knew me
Hey. What's goin' on? Nothing incredibly new here.
Thursday though..whooooo shit! Matt is coming down and we shall begin block assembly! Fuck yea! Did I ever post a picture of the new rear color for my car? No? Okay..here:
Not much crappinin' otherwise. My main plan is to get the vert running and hatch completed by the end of May. This will be for the BBQruise I plan on hosting in June! I will post an official date when I discuss it more with my niggaz. We're going to plan out a sick route though.
Fuck..I love driving the 240s. And just hangin' with other people who enjoy as much. Like this guy -
The plan on Saturday is to head down to CT and pick up some PS and 5speed parts..Plus I am picking up a shifter/clutch from Kevin Starling. All for the vert of course.
We're going to do the big swappy stuff at Kevin Phan's. Shit will be off the chain. Kevin, probably Kevin too...and I will be setting aside major time for swap love.
Also...visited Pete the other day. His car is lookin' pretty fly. It's come a hell of a long way, I will tell you that much. It's almost unreal. And he's done it basically over the course of a year. Right now he is just waiting on his modded knuckle set up from PBM. Crazy.
I've got a slightly better picture of the new pink on my car for you dudes who wanna scope:
It's just asking for dick. lol. Can't wait to be heckled on the streets!
And just for Toan:

It's so loud here!
Well...it's been a while since I've updated. I haven't had much time really. I am just taking a few minutes before KPhan and Jon get here to sit down and type.
These last couple weeks have been spent getting cars ready. Some buddies of mine and myself worked pretty hard on preparing my car for BOSSTOWN. Unfortuntely, it didn't pan out the way we had planned / I had hoped. I feel like I let some people down. And I'm sorry. It's the nature of the beast.
However..this next couple of months will be spent with focus on both the hatch and the vert. I am going to start the assembly next weekend. Today I am getting under the car with KPhan and we are going to inspect the brake lines. This needs to happen.
I'm thinking June 19th..BBQ Cruise at my place. All back roads, no stop lights..really not too many stop signs.. flat, smooth, windy...some fast roads. Should be fun. I have to map out a solid route but I was thinking ending up at somewhere either in Lowell or Nashua.
BOSSTOWN this past Sunday was truly more epic than I think any of us expected. Much more cars showed up than I thought would..and it was just awesome. I hope we are able to reproduce these meets throughout the spring and summer. I can't wait!
Well..I would post pics of Bosstown, vid of Bosstown..but most of you who read this have already seen it.
Next entry might be a little more exciting.

Hey do you remember that guy Larry next door?
So..big and important news! Bosstown is Sunday. Weather is promising at the moment! I'm pretty pumped. Pay day is Friday. I have to register the car on that day. I have some painting to do that I was hoping to get done with a particular buddy of mine. And we had biiiig plans for all sorts of outrageous sexiness.. problem is..now he probably can't come by. Boner killing.
In other news.. Marchmas is coming up. I had plans to get Leon something pretty sweet but I realized he might not feel the gift is as sick as I do. That fucking queerbait! Oh well..I guess I will just have to find something else! Hahaha.
Speaking of Leon..this weekend he came up and we went to Funworld in Nashua. That place sucks. But, they do have Stage 3 Initial D..which we pwn the shit out of (and look like assholes doing it). I mean, seriously. We're legitimate adults. Not like 20 year old adults. Like..real adults...cussing and tearing up a hilariously shitty, yet undeniably awesome arcade game.
After finishing up there we went to Kevin Phan's place to do Leon's Exhaust. Long story short, the bolts for the cat flange were SOOO rusted that it took nearly 30 minutes each. One we ended up having to torque stress enough to break it. The other one took some careful and precise wrenching. Moreover, the hangers on the muffler were so riddled with rust deposit and build up that we had to cut the rubber hanger bushings. But..luckily the install took like..5 or 10 minutes. Now Leon is loud and asshole like. Just like the rest of us. Not quite AS loud as me (FUCK) but loud enough to disturb him. hahahaha. And btw..that is not either of us playing the Initial D game.
Did I mention that I was going with Candy to see Weird Al in Concert? WTF!!?? Hahaha.. as if Summer couldn't rule hard enough, Weird Al comes to the area. Priceless. I've never seen him before, but as a Child I adored his songs. Fuck Raffi, fuck that other dude with the guitar. Weird Al. Straight thuggin', Son.
Also, hey..got another dog. His name is Nachito. He is also of the Jack Russell mix variety. You can check a picture of him out on Candy's Blog. He is Jack Russell, Bull Terrier. I have awarded him the "Worst Snoopy Ever" Award.
So yea.. Not a whole lot going on. I should do my brakes for the meet but I probably won't. (Be careful driving around me, guys..lol). Justin is coming up in the Morning. I gotta pick up my sister from School because of her modified schedule but I am still gonna try and hang with him for a few minutes.
Not much else to write.
In summation: Bosstown..go; Brakes are for mother nature; Open up your face and eat it; Dogs eat food and make bathroom; Initialize on Saturday; Exhausts rule; Cheesy teeth Bitches.

Rollin' with the homies:
Is this too low?
Kevin Phan swung by today to help with finally rolling the rear fenders. It was raining, but that didn't stop him. Solid.
Well, I have been very short with my posts recently. I promise you guys.. I will make up for it.
Love forever, Patrick.

Do work, Bosstown.
Today Kevin Starling, Kevin Phan, His boy Sam, and Franky came by to quest for the start up. Battling with the positioning of the alternator too the morning. KPhan helped out with rolling my front fenders.
Will still need to roll the rears. He should be stopping by on Thursday.
You may notice the new title. Shot is courtesy of Kevin Phan.
Today was fun as busy work can be.
Candy and I went out to Michael Timothy's again. The restaurant never fails. I love their Filet! Next time I will probably try something off whatever seasonal menu items they may have.
Well.. now all there is to do is new tires, brakes (I am hoping I can score some free used ones from a buddy..we'll see), seats (what a pain in the ass), roll rear fenders, and register.

Abandon ship?
I have three weeks to pull my car together, register it, inspect it.
Pretty sure there is almost no shot at that.
Money is tight, bills are due.
I am at a point where I am considering just giving up the dream and sticking with the vert.
I don't want to, but I feel like I am in a corner. Forget about building , forget about drifting.
So much invested, so little to show.
How fucking discouraging.
:(
What do I do?

Well thats one way to lose these walking blues -- diamonds on the soles of your shoes.
Okay.. so number one.. this rx7 Vert is beautiful. Brown and white for some reason is one of my favorite color combos when it comes to these borderline classic sports cars. I don't know why, but there is just something so charming about the combination that it really grabs my attention.
As some of you know, Candy and I just returned from a trip to Florida. Naples to be more precise. I had a blast, and I plan on returning as frequently as possible. I wish I could drive the S-Chassis down there too. The roads are all beautiful and very fast. It's just so much fun to drive around and check things out. There are a lot of great restaurants, burger joints, beautiful cars, gorgeous beaches, and so on.
It's such a shame to come back to poor weather when you get spoiled for a week. Not only that, I seemed to have caught a cold. I've been feeling under the weather, as miserable as the weather has been. It's a shame. I'm already waiting to venture down to Naples again (with bated breath, I may add). First thing I will do is hit up Lulu Belles for the delicious breakfast treat that I am so fond of.
I'd murder myself with the insane amount of 'Bad Ass Coffee' that I'd drink too. It was sooooo good. I wish there were a store around here. Ah well. I even went so far as to look into the cost of opening a franchise. Not particularly expensive -- yet still quite out of my price range.. lol
Well, that pretty much sums it up. Less than a month to get the car road worthy. Ughh.. Brakes; Alternator; Battery; front suspension. Someone please come help!

A el lo saltaron de la carcel y anda como un loco
Candy y yo are leaving in less than 24 hours for Naples. Fuck yeah!
Read all about it every day, twice or thrice a day even.
until then, bitches! :-)

Don't criticize me, man, when there is no fire in your heart:
So... just a couple pics cos everyone loves pictures..
-Kevin and I spent a little time rearranging my shed for our upcoming top secret project.
In other news..got my blizzock. Can't wait to load it.
And here is my cowboy stable of parts. Did I ever mention my house was built in the 1700s? I am sure I have because I complain about heating the damn joint. Anyways.. it's antique. This shop is antique.
That's it. Sorry for posting weakness.

Humans and their nature:
I don't get people sometimes. I don't like when my generosity is taken advantage of. I don't like being fucked over by selfishness. I don't like feeling that I can not trust friends.
I'm not eager for any outcome. It's lose, lose; lose, lose; or lose, lose. Only the paths of travel are different. Final note is inevitably the same.
Fuck you, Tim.

Happy Birthday, Leon!
So here is the thing. I don't know if I am notorious for using the simplest of tools for doing relatively intensive things, but I always find myself using box wrenches to take things apart. Now.. I know it would take me less time and be a lot easier on me if I used the appropriate tools, but I always challange myself in this way.
I dunno what it is..
Any ways.. for part of Leon's birthday present I disassembled the block I am giving him for his turbo build. He is on his way up as I type. In fact, just called me.
so.................................................... girdle out! I'm so damn strong. It took a couple tugs to get it
out but it was pretty cake. Speaking of caek, Candy has a craft fair on Saturday. It's in Worcester, MA. It happens to be another alternative craft fair. If you have the chance, you should come.
The craft fair should be much fun. I imagine there will be more people showing up to this one. The location is a bit better, from what I understand.
Oh hey. I'm a shitston. You may confuse me with something that is worthy of being in a motor
but you'd be wrong!
but you'd be wrong!
So, hopefully we can take this thing off the stand and I can clear up the space for my big boy build! I'm going to start that as soon as I get back from Florida. I still have a lot of reading to do w
ith regards to tuning and engine management. I also have to find a good fuel delivery set up. I have my pump so far. That's it. I'm looking at the AMS kit they have for somewhere around $500 I think.
Matt is going to help me with the assembly and what not. He has been a Nissan Mechanic for a few years, and has rebuilt many an SR20. I'm hoping this goes well.
I still must have the head work done! I've been stalling big time on that. I have the two cars to build though.
Speaking of which.. I have been able to source an s14 tranny, drive shaft, and harness for the vert! I'm pumped. Pete always has good stuff for sale. I think he is selling like 2 240s right now and his miata...and his rhd shell...and his rb20..and I just bought his KA set up for verta
licious. Good times
Well.. here it is. This is where this block sits for now. I gotta wait for Leon to get here. All the bolts, rods, etcetera are marked and placed appropriately in order, just in case he asks. I have meticulously arranged the entire mass of block internals in a box on my shed floor. This shit is ready to GTFO of my place already. And I can't wait to make the room! Hopefully Leon will find it in him to accept this part of his birthday gift and bring it home.
I guess we will know soon.
Do work son.

Almost had a fresh set of SSR Mesh!
Candy likes Falken Hanabis. This wheel belongs to her. All of her car parts are inside the house. All of mine are freezing outside in the cold like homeless field mice! Hahaha..
Anyways, we leave soon for FL. Long drive. (Yep, I said it.. we are driving) Candy has never been on a road trip, and really hasn't been anywhere outside of New England and New York City I think. This will be exciting. I don't mind the long drive. I'm so used to it anyways. It should be fun though. And another great thing about driving down is that we will have license to drive where we want to when we want to. We don't have to borrow or rent a car. Freedom to explore is a good thing.
By the way.. I looked up Dunkin Donuts in the town we will be in and miraculously there are at least 5. That makes me feel great. Normally when I go to visit other places out of New England I can almost never find one within reasonable distance of where I am staying. Needless to say, 5 may not be a lot of DD but I am extremely pumped.
I'm pretty excited to pick up my freshly machined block! Also, I am ordering my pistons when I'm back from Florida!! Woooh
Met up briefly with Kevin Phan, Shane, Toan and friends last night. They were helping out with Kevin's drop in. I walked away with a 75a fuse (Thanks Kevin!) and that made it all worth it. Cool cats.
Kevin Starling has asked me to be a groomsman in his wedding. I'm gonna steal the show. lol.. just kidding. I'm happy/surprised to even be considered as a candidate in the first place, and will be happy to stand up there and look good while he ties the not!
We went to Carraba's last night. If you have never been, I don't recommend it. Do not believe the hype. If you are interested in having black pepper be the overwhelming spice ingredient in ALL of your food, you actually may want to consider this place. Be prepared to wait a long time if you aren't smart enough to call ahead of time (People were angry that we had been there for minutes and were seated when they've been waiting for an hour +)

How to ruin photographs.
Put subject Patrick into the shot. haha.. just kiddin'.
Ahh, we love the funny face. This is an old shot from my mom's old house. In the basement.
So.. not really much to update on the car right now. It's 2:45 in the morning.
So instead of posting about my 2nd favorite subject.. I'd post about my first.
This picture is taken with Candy's Mac book. I really like it though. We have it printed and framed in our room. Sure, it's not great quality when it comes to resolution... but the quality people... fuhgeddaboutit. It doesn't get much better than this. We are dope.
Truly fun loving and very much in love.
It really is a lot of fun to be around us.
I really like this shot of Candy. It's a lot more recent.
It was hard to go through the catalogue of pictures on this computer
as there were about 15 thousand.
Makes it hard to pick some to choose.
I was going to make a time line.. oh well. I like this picture. It's great.
Remember when I was talking about ruining pictures.. C'monnn. And you know we have the best smiles out of anyone you know.
I love this little lady.

I got Martha Stewart givin' me stock tips:
Here is a mother fucking picture!
So... I am truly pumped about the March 21st meet and cruise. And I will continue to refer to it as "Boss Town". That shit will be off the chain.
There is no way to be done my build by then, so I will go via hatch in all it's stock power glory. Hopefully I will have at least replaced the exhaust by then. Also, a tight bomb job is in the works.
Work lately has been a total drag. What's new? Kevin is also leaving the company next week. The only positive aspect will be I will have to clear out my work email a shit ton less.. haha.
We leave for Florida in a couple of weeks. I'll be happy to just be on the road. If only I could source a god damn CB radio for the trip. I need to be on top of where the smokey locals are.
This is a pretty boring update. Sorry, Toan. I know you're the only one readin' this. haha

Brevity is the soul of wit:
This is destined to be a short update. I'm at work!
Car news: Got all new components to rebuild. OEM rods which will be cryo treated, OEM timing chain rebuild, water pump, oil pump + front cover, gasket kit.
Going to order forged internals soon. Machine work is already done for the block, honed, bored, decked, deglazed, hot tanked, yada yada. .020 over Yay!
I've got one block going to Leon...plus a head. I have a motor for the vert, and 5 speed for vert.
I have to get my headwork done for my BC valve train. teeheehehehe
This weekend consisted of me disassembling my bike, after walking out to the bike in the shed. Turns out I had horizontal drop outs all along. Went to Goodales bike shop. They suck. They are not helpful, and totally ignored me. well, sorry.. that is it. :-(
